Shanghai announces that new energy vehicle promotion will break through 200,000 units
Shanghai became the first city in China to announce the cumulative promotion of more than 200,000 new energy vehicles. Recently, the Shanghai Economic and Trade Commission issued a document saying that as of September 10, Shanghai has cumulatively promoted 201500 new energy vehicles. As of August 2018, China has promoted 2.4 million new energy vehicles, and Shanghai accounts for about 8.4% of the total new energy vehicles in China.
According to the Shanghai Economic and Information Committee, 33,418 new energy vehicles were added from January to August, a year-on-year increase of 58%, of which private sector purchases accounted for 72%, reaching an all-time high. With the advancement of the national new energy vehicle integration work, almost all car companies in the Chinese market have begun to develop and produce new energy vehicles, which provides consumers with more choices of models. Taking passenger cars as an example, the number of new energy vehicles in Shanghai in 2013-2016 was only 60, and by the end of September this year had reached more than 150.
The promotion of new energy vehicles in China is mainly concentrated in first- and second-tier cities. The top ten cities with the highest cumulative sales in 2017 were Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Qingdao, Guangzhou, Changsha, Zhengzhou and Chengdu. As of 2017, the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles reached 1.8 million units, and the proportion of the top ten cities was 47.4%.
In terms of charging infrastructure construction, Shanghai has built 64,000 public charging piles and 33,000 dedicated charging piles in August this year. There are also 11.6 private charging piles, totaling 213,000, which is basically the same as the promotion of new energy vehicles. 1:1 ratio.
